Spent the morning touring Hellbrunn palace and water gardens. The water garden was great and the tour guide had a lot of fun with the trick fountains. We were caught in all sorts of water traps and didn't escape dry. We got to see the Sound of Music Pavilion too.
In the afternoon, we took a train out to Hallien where we toured a salt mine. It was really neat. We had to put on protective jumpsuits. During the tour, we got to ride a miner shuttle, go down wooden slides, boat over an underground salt lake, cross the German/Austrian border 200 m underground, and taste salt on the walls of the tunnels. It was quite the experience!
Tomorrow, we will be going to Germany and will be staying in Fussen for a couple nights.
Sounds like the same salt mine I toured many years ago!! Hope you took some pictures! Can't wait to see you in those jumpsuits!!
